Did you look at either of these? Both are cameras with GPS data overlay and neither are SatNavs.

Must be honest, no I didn't. I just saw TomTom and Garmin and only know them as navigation aids

Some of the cheaper Camera's do not measure GPS at a high enough Hz figure. Been there done that. Its surprising how fast or not you are going in the space of 1 sec which is where most camera GPS units measure.

I have had high Hz value data loggers in the past and had the GoPro and Garmin stand alone camera/gps units. In the end it was just easier to integrate the AIM Smarty Cam. It just works with all the info needed. https://www.meteormotorsport.com/sho...-smartycam-gp/
