Gloves in 2010

Hi,

Does anyone know the regs for hillclimbs re gloves for 2010? Do we need fireproof gloves, or simply gloves? And if fireproof, do they need a particular label, or is the fact that they're made of nomex enough?
Mine are nomex but have no kite-marks or labels, blah blah...

... I could ring a helpful scrute and ask, but mostly through laziness, and partly because my blue book is in the garage and it's firkin freezing, I thought I'd ask on here...

ta muchly....

yes, I was just starting to write to Santa tonight, so if they have to have numbers etc on them, then they'll be on the list! Strangely, I doubt that he has Avon slicks in lapland, so I'd better get the tyres myself.... dammit.

Heres the link for the 2010 bluebook.

Gloves are mandatory by the look of it ( Personally I can't stand the things.

(e) Gloves. Materials tested to ISO 6940. Each glove
to be labelled to that effect. Backs of gloves to be
made from at least two layers of 180 gr/m2.
Thread must be flame resistant and non-melting,
seam stitching to be invisible from the outside.
Gloves must be fitted at the wearer’s wrist and
cover the cuff of the wearer’s overalls.
Manufacturers must register all glove models with
the MSA and FIA.
Taken from General safety section.

Regulation K9.1.8 states gloves shoes undergarments etc are STRONGLY ADVISED I would have anticipated that these are therefore not mandatory.
I wear undergarments, balaclava, gloves and shoes all with ISO 6940 on,but on checking mine one shoe had a label saying it complies with ISO 6940 and one glove does likewise.
So these do not comply with K 14.3.(d) & (e), would back room lawyer please advise whether I need new ones or not as compliance with K 14 is only advisory, I can carry on playing happily without involving Santa.

K9.1.8 is in the general section ........but.......

Taken from specific regulations for Hillclimbs and Sprints. ( Text is highlighted in red )

9.2.1. Throughout practice and Competition, all Drivers
must wear clothing, helmet and goggles complying with
K.9 to 11 or, where appropriate, the specific Class
regulations for Drag Races. Overalls homologated to
either FIA 8856-2000 or FIA 1986 standard will be
mandatory from 01.01.2012, when the BS6249,
BSEN533 and pr EN533 will no longer be acceptable.
Competitors are required to wear flame-resistant gloves
(not mitts or gloves with open backs).
All these items must be produced for inspection and
approval at scrutineering.

Need to check my gloves and confirm then, as I thought it was still Strongly Advised for 2010. The red text is very clear.

I did find this little gem when reading in 15.1.1, can anyone decipher it: "Maximum height of not to exceed the any part wider than top of the front 110 cm ahead of the wheel rim
front wheels" ???
