Richard ,I got the adjustable one for use in the Mallock as nobody could tell us which was suitable 20 or 30 degrees,as this covers both plus 10 & 40 degrees,we use it with 3" belts without a problem

Thanks everyone for the advice. It sounds like I need to try an adjustable one and as I'll no doubt be parked next to Ed at Harewood on Aug 30th I guess I'll take him up on the offer of a try out. Thanks Ed

Rich

I've had an adjustable HANS but I sold it to buy a Simpson Hybrid. The Simpson is much easier to wear and is 'auto-adjustable' plus it doesn't interfere with the seat or helmet.

No probs. Looking doubtful we can make 30th but you're free to borrow it anytime for a test so give me a shout. Cheers, Ed

Thanks Ed, no rush if you don't make it for the 30th I'll no doubt catch up with you and Steve at the September meetings. I won't be buying until the new year anyway.

With your idea you would be guaranteed to snap your neck, if the straps were a similar length to the HANS.... And if the straps were longer, then they wouldn't be having any benefit at all.
Why not bin the HANS and just fasten the 2 straps direct to the bulkhead. Any length to suit the driver.....

Well that might well work David, but how would you exit the car in the required 5 seconds? Or is this your wicked humour again?

You know me too well Richard but as I say, if you are unconscious it doesnt matter. BTW, I use a 20 degree and apart from hating the fact that I have to wear it I dont have any problems.....

Rich, stick an airbag on your wheel. Start a trend.
They'll be mandatory next, then ABS, followed by an SOS board and a warning triangle.
