Blowers for single seaters

Hi

Can any body recommend any petrol blowers to keep our car cool between double drives please.

Have seen a few people using them but have no idea what to go for.

Thanks

Its mainly for sprints where we have struggled a bit. It's fine when it's running but it gets quite hot while we are changing over and then holding on the start line. We might be ok but just wanted to see what the options are.

As a hillclimb fan and landscape gardener I would recommend Stihl, easy to start which the cheaper ones won't be. The marsh brothers use a hand held blower to cool the supercharged car between drivers. From memory bg 55 and 85 are both good options

Is that what you use Chris, does it run the battery down?

What about fitting a small radiator fan (Not much weight) - but powered externally; just plug in a jump battery when in the paddock to run it?

Perhaps look at the ducting to/from the radiator - is it directing enough air into and out of the radiator during driving?

ours is fitted with electric pump - which you can "pulse" - runs for ~4s on ignition on - tend to use this whilst waiting for next run - pretty sure you could run it longer - don't think it draws much amps and Li battery strong...I have a personal aversion to the racket caused by garden blowers !
