What email program are you using?
Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, something else?

Google suggests you're using an old style sync method, which just requires re-configuring.

Took it to the local computer shop today exasperated.

Seems Microsoft want people out of the windows I've had for years so stopped my system from in/out of emails.
Kind, and typical arrogant MS. Some time ago they gave me 8.1, that was good......, and then once I had worked some of that crap out....., gave me V10 overnight without any permission. Good aren't they.

Came back this afternoon with Mozilla Thunderbolt installed as the email system. £15 labour.
Everything carried over but lost all the 'memorised' email addresses I had as short cuts, but no big deal to slowly re-load those.

Apparently things started to change in June 16 and they have finally caught me up.

2 others in the shop with the same problem today.

not a glitch on my iPad. Maybe Apple are the way to go?

I've a few emails, and here I like to use Outlook Express ( Windows Live mail 2012 ) or whatever it is.

So far 1 of my hotmail.com accounts have stopped syncing, I did try a few things to get them working but no joy. A live.co.uk account also stopped a couple of weeks ago.
Oddly the other and oldest hotmail.com account I have is still working fine, all settings appear to be the same.

This new system the shop installed is a bit weak and things upset it, but I'm getting used to it.

What is the modern 'preferred' MS system now?

Outlook Express operating from Windows 98 (Second Edition) is still preferred my some of my customers.

Gmail Graham, its (for non business users) unbeatable. Works on the phone, and on the laptop, simple interface, free of charge, a no brainer.

Windows 10 is also very good, has improved since the latest anniversary updates, and goes from strength to strength IMO

Apple, I'd avoid, simply because Android/Gmail works side by side with Windows/Gmail.

I wish I was technically informed as you lot!

I had Windows 10 forced on me one night by MS but it is FAR better than the stupid V8.1 I had with my then new super pc.

The Windows email system (Hotmail) was fine and had been for a century, but that too was suddenly gone, but months after MS said they were dropping it.

Their new Outlook you have to pay for (£60/year), you have no choice with them, so the Shop installed this Mozilla system that seems good, but not as good as what has been dropped by MS.

I'm getting used to it now after the few days I've had it, so will stick with it now.
I don't have a smart phone, just an iPad and this pc which does all I need.

The iPad still uses the old MS system robbed off me!

I have been with Outlook for many years, and it is free (so far). I have never been told that an annual fee will be payable and I certainly wouldn't pay £60 pa!
