Hewland Mk8/9 info.

Can somebody confirm whether the large nuts on the rear of the box have to be undone before the gears can be withdrawn from the box? I suspect the L/H thread mainshaft one has to be undone. Unlucky for me, the box is on the bench, making the loosening of these nuts more involved . Any suggestions please, most welcome. Thanks.

If I remember correctly ( long time since I had a Mk9) you select 2 gears at the same time and then undo the nuts one LH one RH. I think that is what it says in the Hewland manual.
