cutting slicks for wets

what is the recommended depth to cut groves in a slick for intermediates.
and is it ok to cut A92 compound .
whats the best pattern

I have cut used (and new) A92 slicks with no issues. I usually set the blade to go as deep as possible without revealing the carcass!
As for pattern, I've tried various - whatever floats your boat as I'm doubtful I'd ever be able to tell if one pattern out-performed another..........

was going to try simple pattern. and limited cuts .
was not sure about depth any one know how much they start with would 5mm be to much. dont want to cut to depth and waste tyre

Have a look at the wear limit holes - there's probably a bit more than that but a good starting point.

did them and was surprised how much depth could be cut no problem.
