While I'm still looking for a suitable engine, I have made a start on the airbox.

I never really thought that the 'snorkle' really worked, the proportions looked wrong. So I've started making a new shape. LOTS of work to do yet, but you get the general idea. Obviously photoshopped to help me visualise the shape.

Didn't Mr. Proctor run a turbo engine in one of his cars. Got the feeling that it might have been a Honda unit in a single seater.........

He ran a turbocharged engine in one of his sports racing OMS chassis as well - same unit I think.

That's right Steve, he did transfer it. Did it replace the twin engine set up.....

Graham Midgley still has the Les's red SC1 with the turbo engine but prefers model car racing these days. I think a 1600 busa replaced the twin set up in the black car.

Progress

Progress at last. If it continues at this rate it will be started by the end of the month, so could be out in April. but I'm sure work etc will delay it slightly.

I have lots of ideas for improvements, but I am resisting, if I can get the car working and then spend a year learning to drive it that will be a good achievement.

Great project. Word of warning from my experience on injector positioning. I did something very similar to you on the placement of the 2nd batch and found that the incoming air blew the fuel away from, in your case the cylinders 2 and 3. The exhaust mixture was fine as the wideband was reading the average. Only once I logged EGT could I see what was happening. My injectors are now in the plenum at rampipe height central if you know what I'm describing.

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like this on the inside. The injectors are the single jet type.
