The new crop of reduculously fast 1100's like the raptor and new force TA run quite a lot of wing and are absolutely flying at the moment!
Maybe it is to do with the relatively low speeds on the hills?

1100's probably don't exceed 110 ish, and as drag is proportional to the square of speed (i.e. you quadruple the drag or lift when you double the speed).

Sprinters will have a greater drag issue because of their higher speeds.

Sorry Tim. Re the force TA,I was referring to Chris jones who's sprinting in the British rounds and winning the 1100 class by several seconds whilst chasing down the bigger single seaters with considerably more power

But then look at Bradley who ran standard basic Jedi wings and holds pretty much every 1100 record on the circuits. Maybe low aero is better for the smaller engined cars on the big tracks?

It's a tricky one to decide

Bradley's a bit unique though! Extremely talented driver who got everything possible out of that Jedi!

Very true!

Although he struggled a little more when he went to the hills so could take from that that his aero was spot on for circuits but let him down a little on hills.

Hard one to work out though as he might have just not been as comfortable on the tighter tracks, lots and lots of variables to think about

Thought he went to gurston for the first time and was right in e mix at the top of the 1100 class on his first hillclimb?

Oh I'm not sure, I only read in our championship review that he wasn't as comfortable on the hills as the circuit.

Fair play if that's true though! Lad can obviously pedal!

Notice Bradley's high tops speed through both traps, 'thinks" must run with less wing??
