I thought the newer ones still had an element of supercharging as otherwise they would be extremely difficult to start?

Hi:
I know that are a lot of turbocharger kits for 2-stroke snowmobiles in the market, for carburetors and/or fuel injection also.
It seems that throttle response is not very important in this machines, but the power rise a lot with turbo systems, the turbo MUST be placed AFTER the expansion chamber/s, to keep the exhaust pulses doing the correct scavenge and intake interactions.

Obviously im not a english native, apologies for the inconvenience caused in reading.

One of the big skills in power boat racing is throttle control. The throttle man is the most important member of the crew on these big offshore racing boats

Hola Figa42 - not too far from you today in Majorca! Throttle control on a CVT is critical. With the massive torque of a two stroke combined with a CVT instant gearchange, a big change in throttle will promote wheel spin, not what you want on any corner exit. I am researching full traction control presently.
Any turbo or supercharger used will be run via an independent power unit as you do not want to use any power from the main engine.

Haha, Majorca and Norfolk from my home are at same distance, because i live in northwestern Spain, talking about your project i think the idea of independient power unit like Nic Mann or a simple supercharger moved by a second small engine are a good solution, you can even select a intake nanifold pressure from idle to max revs, something like running the engine below sea level, works like aspirated engine.

I have ordered the CVT transmission from Supreme Tooling USA. Here is picture of similar unit fitted to drag racing Snomobile.

Hi

Here he is - on a start-line - I have contacted him to see if he is interested in joining "The Team" to overcome all the problems.
