Why should the perception of how a car looks effect which category it runs in?

I like it, it looks like a lot of fun for the owners. Are you at Loton at all in August as I'd love a closer look.

Thanks for the compliment grahamb

Its a bit of an unusual approach so as you can imagine I've already had a fair number of negative comments, right from when I first contacted the MSA about converting it for hillclimbs & sprints so its nice to hear something positive.

Doing the mods required for the MSA & building the car was a pretty big effort so we're just going to do a few meetings this year, mainly at Curborough as its local, to establish whether its any fun & work on general car setup, its unlikely we'll get to Loton but hopefully we'll have at least 1 more car next year & we're going to try to do some of the other tracks

Its along the same lines as Mick Tomlinsons Buggy Special, thats always run in the single seater class and upset a few established competitors, sure Steve Wilkinson will have a pic somewhere in his vast library

It's a decent looking car but I'd still go back & check the BB & make it conforms to either single seater or libre if you want to go further afield or sell replicas.

It would simply avoid confusion & unnecessary arguments.

As Minitici said I think that might mean narrowing the bodywork between the wheels if you did want to go single seater.

Along with a few others I'd also imagined that libre cars ought to have mudguards, but I can't see I see no reference to them in 14.1 a

Finally, I'm pretty confident it would comply with any ROPS regs. for any category known to man.

What's the drivetrain?

Hi,

You said it's a bespoke drive gear, what have you done? You've engineered out the chain (and all the problems it gives us all!) somehow?

Andy
