That's a lot of people giving a thumbs up, thanks chaps, next question I can carry an Odyssey on a plane and bring it back here for my bike, whats the hazard situation for lithium batteries, I know planes are fitted with them, but that does not make it acceptable for anything considered hazardous in your baggage.

Thanks Graham,
Interesting also that the new Boeing Dreamliner had lithium battery fires and were grounded while they had a redesign to sort out the cooling.

Lithium Batteries have been banned from air transport into the Channel Islands due to their habit of bursting into flames if not managed properly.

The local airline have specific bans on the larger batteries, Phones and Electronic devices are unaffected.

Jonathan:
can you tell me which battery you use please (rating ect)?

I have a lot of space in the Lola so size is not an issue, but since your engine is the 'same' as mine it sounds just the ticket.

As a side thought, my RedTop is on the other side of the car to me, so if I save 8Kg on the battery, does that mean I have to loose 8Kg to?

By the time you work out the cross-weight, you may have to lose a leg!

Anyway, worry about that after the festivities

Lithium is generally a no no, they dont like them one bit as they are literally a fire hazard

Only exclusions seem to be phones etc, not really practical sometimes to avoid those.

You'd need to speak to your specific airline though

If you currently (!) use a red top 30 that has a CCA rating of 550amps at 0 degrees C. This Skyrich battery HJTX30L-FP has a CCA of 540 but not sure how Skyrich test the CCA
