Can we elaborate on the thread title so that people don't think (as I have mentioned before) that this is bad news.

Whatever happened to...?

Cheers
James

Don't know, despite speaking to his father and brother at Fintry 8 weeks ago.

BTW a bit overly critical of the OP IMHO. Must be getting to an age where mortality is evident, to suspect any name is associated with bad news. And on this topic..." whatever did happen to the likely lads....?"

I couldn't change the Thread Title I tried. Blimey didn't realise putting someone's name automatically suggested bad news.

Unfortunately it does. Nothing personal eh .

@asklepious unfortunately age, has nothing to do with mortality, I'm mid forties (a baby in Speed Eventing terms) and yet already the funeral invites are more evident than weddings/christenings or other life affirming activities.

Sorry James but I didn't get the impression that something had happened to him to indicate that he might have died. A simple question really and I am sure that the mods of this forum would have been fully informed if someone had passed away and let us know in the proper way. There is a section at the bottom in the News section which is usually used to keep us informed.....

Hi Red,

Thread title originally was first/last name only, this is universal shorthand for bad news announcement concerning the named individual. It pisses me off because it's lazy and it always makes my heart sink/stomach churn before I even open the thread so when it transpires to be somebody merely wondering where somebody is or to pass on congratulations etc then a better thread title would probably be easier all round.

Anyway, irrelevant in the scheme of things, hope you are keeping well mate.

Regards
James

He stepped back from racing (for the moment anyway), it was hard work competing at the level he was at with traveling and work and so on. Now married and enjoying life. He had a good shot at it with lots of success..
