same in concept as those Bose noise cancelling headphones, and we had a system at work in a big open space atrium. worked really well. recall Lotus were working on this once too. But never seen a system on a race car so who knows. might be a lot lighter than some massive silencer.

Only 104db at Rockingham David. Works well.
Some aircraft use Bose speakers inside to cancel the sound from the props.

Been chatting with a friend who makes exhaust systems and he says that most of the noise from a 2 stroke comes through the sides of the expansion box and not through the end of the tail pipe.....

Yep, I had to sound insulate my Expansion chambers at Goodwood to get through the noise test. Awaiting replies from Turbo companies but planning to have all the exhaust system sound insulated BUT with a switch to open up a by-pass flap to give the spectators at Shelsley the sound of a big V8 two stroke!!

Has been a busy couple of months. Prosport 3000 now into workshop ready to decide how to fit the V8 + CVT. Engine partially reassembled ready for whatever fuel in system I finally decide upon.

Hi

Yes its a 1996 version, see: http://www.lynxaelr1.co.uk/LR1/LR1-showroom.htm and the latest Lynx website where it has been developed further and currently being sold as a LM1.

HELP

So the Prosport 3000 is in the workshop and I have had 1st attempt at transmission layout. Seems like I can get it all together by extending crankshaft over the Diff. for the primary pulley and then connect the secodary pulley directly to the input shaft of the reversed - upside down Sierra Cosworth Diff.

***** Anyone got a Sierra Cos. dif I could borrow to ckeck it can be done before I commission the required parts.

I have found a Cosworth diff - thanks, awaiting delivery.

Eight new 44mm Mikuni diaphragm carbs arrived from USA and they fit very well onto the 8 throttle bodies with easy access for jet change. These carbs have no float chamber so very safe in an accident or overturn - no petrol can escape.

Solved the problem of how to oil the 5 main crank bearings by drilling feed holes into the crankcase. Fitted 5 off 1/8" non return valves piped up to a supply manifold fed by a Skidoo oil injection pump.

So now onto full engine assembly.
