No idea how much benefit there could be from actually trying to use exhaust gasses in the manner you describe. I guess there's a hell of a lot of them, so they may well be of use ? Any other vehicles ever do such things ?
Pete's getting a periscope exhaust made for his car, but he's worried about failing noise with his 4,000,000 horsepower following the turbo charger replacement and wants to be able to fit a silencer. However, I'm not so sure that directing the turbo exhaust towards the rear wing is such a good idea.

I could be wrong but I recall the blown diffuser concept really only providing large gains once the teams (namely Renault) figured out how to 'cold blow' the exhaust, ie, maintaining a high engine rpm without firing so the flow rate of the exhaust gas remained broadly constant.

Without that element then you would only be creating a blown diffuser during periods of high rpm, ie, in high speed corners. That may be fine in a circuit based application but I'm not sure how much I would like that level of sensitivity in a hill climb given the reduced margin for error...

Was a beam wing ever considered when the front and rear wings were designed? I know they're useful to optimize how the diffuser and main rear wing work together but I guess depending on the overall design there may be times when it won't offer much of an advantage.

I really enjoy following this thread, it's been a very interesting read.

That's probably as good a solution as you can get, I'll hold out and see how Pete gets on. Heck, at least it might sound a bit sportier.

I've had some #britishsprintchampionship stickers made, which are £1 a strip if anyone wants a set.
15mm tall and worth at least 0.5s a lap.

Rolled her out the garage for some pictures today. Just a handful of minor jobs left to do. Also I'll be running wire ropes from the ends of the diffuser to the bottom of the rear wing for some additional damping of the rear wing.
